Syracuse, N.Y. – Bankers Healthcare Group, a leading provider of financial solutions for healthcare professionals, is partnering with David’s Refuge to provide parents/guardians of kids with special needs or life-threatening medical condition an opportunity for rest and respite from the demands of care. BHG’s donation will help cover costs for 60 parents/guardians to have a weekend stay at a bed and breakfast, meals and recreation. The goal is for them to leave feeling restored, refreshed and revived.
Non-profit organization David’s Refuge was started to provide respite, resources and support to parents/guardians, and help them feel restored, refreshed and revived. David’s Refuge partners with regional inns, and hopes to serve more than 250 couples in 2018, with a goal to serve 350 in 2019.
“We admire the unique service that David’s Refuge provides to family caregivers who deserve relief from the incredible responsibilities and demands of caring for children with special needs or a serious illness,” said BHG Chief Marketing Officer Chris Panebianco. “When we heard there are caregivers on the waiting list, we pledged to fund their trips and help support the organization’s mission.”
BHG is also sponsor of the fifth annual ‘A Taste of David’s Refuge.’ The Sept. 21 event showcases food and drink from David’s Refuge weekend respite partners.
“We are so excited about our partnership with BHG. Their contribution will make an immediate impact in providing the caregivers on our waiting list the chance to take a step back, reflect and connect with each other,” said David’s Refuge Executive Director Kate Houck. “As we continue to grow, it’s amazing to know that local organizations like BHG are here for our caregivers.”
BHG is committed to giving back to its local communities through charitable donations, volunteerism, and sponsorships. The company’s page on Corporate Social Responsibility provides more information on its contributions to both local and global causes.
