As the last day of school approaches for students across Upstate New York, those at Dr. Weeks Elementary School in Syracuse, N.Y., received a special sendoff from Bankers Healthcare Group, a leading provider of financial solutions for healthcare practitioners and other licensed professionals. Today, BHG delivered outdoor games and toys to each of the 770 kids to inspire them to stay active and healthy while on summer vacation.
“Giving back is important to us, and we love visiting the staff and students at Dr. Weeks,” said BHG Chief Marketing Officer Chris Panebianco. “We work every day with medical professionals, so wellness is top of mind for us. At the corporate level, we believe in healthy body, healthy mind, and encourage our people to stay healthy through physical activity. This is our way of inspiring the next generation in our community to stay active in fun, creative ways.”
It took six extra-large boxes, large bags, and a U-Haul truck to transport everything to Dr. Weeks. BHG employees—as part of the BHG Cares Crew—helped kids in pre-K through fifth grade pick out what they wanted from jump ropes, chalk, bubbles, balls, hula hoops, games, and much more.
“We’re so grateful to have a corporate neighbor like Bankers Healthcare Group help us care for our students,” said Dr. Weeks Elementary Principal Diane Vitello. “We’re touched by their generosity of gifts and time, and our kids are thrilled whenever the BHG team visits. This is such a great way to reinforce the important message to stay healthy and have fun!”
BHG visits Dr. Weeks twice a year—in December to celebrate the holidays and in June for a summer sendoff. BHG Cares is the company’s brand for corporate social responsibility. Since the company’s inception in 2001, BHG has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in philanthropic causes within its local communities through donations, volunteerism, sponsorships, foundations, and grants.
