Brian Szyffer

Director of Financial Planning & Reporting


Brian Szyffer is BHG’s Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Since joining in early 2016, he has built out the entire forecasting & internal reporting processes, including board package, weekly earnings projections, quarterly plans, multi-year forecasts, QvQ comparisons and a variety of other reporting packages to help the leadership team better understand the economics of the business. Brian revamped the budgeting process and worked closely with HR to modify the annual review timelines to support budgets and streamlined annual bonus and merit increase processes. He has also worked closely with Accounting to implement several improvements to the internal processes.

Prior to joining BHG, Brian worked for Jennison Associates, a wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential Financial. During his 6 years as the AVP-Assistant Controller, Brian was responsible for all accounting activities, including preparing or reviewing all month end close reconciliations & deliverables, maintaining general ledger and reporting systems, ensuring accuracy of financials while remaining in compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements and managing the annual audit.

During his tenure, Brian streamlined the entire month end close process to decrease the timeline from 9+ Business Days to 4 and completed several strategic initiatives across the organization. Prior to this position, Brian was the Assistant Controller for Drake Management and was responsible for all management accounting responsibilities. During his 4 years at Drake, Brian opened (& subsequently closed) 3 international offices and was responsible for general accounting and GAAP compliance.

Brian has earned his Bachelors of Science, Business Administration at the University at Buffalo and his Masters in Business Administration – Accounting at Baruch College.
